Eye camp on the 3rd of December, 2008 ( at the Muvandeniya Base Hospital, Matale)

The community service project was carried out by set of students of ICBT Kandy Campus, HND in BM recently. The project was located in a remote Grama Niladhari Division in Matale District, about ten km from Matale Town
The main component of the project was conducting an EYE CAMP at the Muvandeniya Base Hospital for needy villagers of five surrounding hamlets.
  • There were over two hundred people who came for consultation and necessary treatment
  • Lenses are provided free of charge to 25 poor and needy people who could not afford the cost
  • Television set also provided for the use of the resident patients who had no access to outside information and any entertainment facility
  • Total amount raised Rs. 2,20000.00 to cover the cost of the project through various activities and sponsorships organized by the students themselve

The project was supervised by Mr.Ashok Joseph, the lecturer in-charge and Mr.Harshana Piyasinghe- the Senior Manager of ICBT Kandy Campus.
